The Circus

Die neue Roma e Toska Kollektion ist da! Diese Kollektion liegt mit besonders am Herzen, da ich während meines Praktikums bei Roma e Toska von Anfang bis Ende an der Kolektion mitgearbeitet habe.

Das Thema für den Sommer 2011: Der Zirkus. Damit ist aber nicht der moderne Zirkus gemeint, den wir heute kennen, sondern der ärmliche Wanderzirkus aus den Jahren von 1890 bis 1950. Als Inspiration dienten dabei verschiedenstes:Von Fellinis Film "La Strada", der den fantasievollen Teil der Kollektion schuf, bis hin zu Charlie Chaplin, der die Vorlage für Blazer und alles im Bereich "Landstreicher" und "schabby chic" war.

Natürlich sind aber auch die klassischen Elemente des Zirkus zu finden: das Rautenmuster des Harlekin Clowns, das Tutu und die Farbe Rot. Dabei wirkt das Zirkuselement nie zu stark oder gar kostümiert oder lächerlich.

Eine sehr abwechslungsreiche Kollektion, die sehr trendbewusst ist- natürlich mit der typische Roma e Toska Handschrift versehen.

The new Roma e Toska Collection is there! This collection means alot to me, because it was the one i worked on from the beginning to the end during my internship.

The theme for spring/summer 2011: The Circus. Not the modern circus we know today, but the old travelling circus from 1890-1950. Different things served as inspiration: Fellinis movie "La Strada" helped design the imaginative part of the collection. Charlie Chaplin was model for the tramp, the shabby chic.

Of course the typical elements of the circus are not missing: the tutu, the diamond pattern and the color red.

A very varied and stylish collection- of course with the well-known Roma e Toska touch.

I Love Chocolate

Es gibt keine besseren Möglichkeiten einen freien Nachmittag zu verbringen, als etwas selber zu machen. Egal ob basteln, malen oder backen. Noch hat die Uni nicht wieder angefangen und ich geniesse die letzten freien Nachmittage. Neulich habe ich das erste Mal Pralinen selber gemacht. Mit viel Liebe zubereitet und in einer schönen Schachtel mit Seidenpapier verpackt, sind sie das ideale Geschenk. Aber man sollte immer ein paar mehr machen, damit man auch selber etwas davon hat.

There is no better way to spend your free afternoons, than to do it yourself. No matter if you do handicrafts, draw or if you bake. Just now my University hasn't started yet and I'm enjoing my last free afternoons. A few days ago I did pralines for the first time. Made with love and wrapped up in silk paper in a nice box, they are the perfect gift. But one should always have some left, to enjoy them oneself.

Zutaten/ Ingridients

100g Sahne/ 100g cream

150g Pekan- oder Waldhonig/ 150g Pekanhoney

Marke einer Vanilleschote/ Inside of a vanilla bean

400g dunkle Schokolade/ 400g dark chocolate

250g Butter/ 250g Butter

ca. 100g dunkle Schokolade zum Überziehen/ ca. 100g dark chocolate for the overlay

ca. 40g weisse Schokolade zum Verzieren/ ca. 40g white chocolate for the decoration

Vanilleschote längs aufschneiden, das Mark herauskratzen und mit der Sahne aufkochen.Über die zerhackte Schokolade geben und unter ständigem Rühren schmelzen. ( Falls nicht alles flüssig wird, die Masse kurz im Wasserbad schmelzen.)

Cut open the vanilla bean and cook the inside together with the cream. Pore everything on the chopped chocolate and stirr until everything is melted. ( If not everything melts, use a waterbath to melt the rest)

Sobald die Masse Zimmertemperatur hat, die Butter schaumig schlagen, unter die Schokolade heben und zu einer glatten Masse verrühren. Zuletzt den Honig unterheben. Die Masse für ein paar Stunden kalt stellen.

As soon as the chocolate has room-temperature, beat the butter until fluffy. Give the chocolate and the butter into a bowl and stirr until everything is a smooth mass. Last add the honey. Cool everything for a few hours.

Während die Schokomasse abkühlt, weisse und dunkle Schokolade im Wasserbad getrennt schmelzen.

While the chocolate is hardening, melt the white and dark chocolate in seperate water-baths.

Aus der kalten, festen Schokomasse kleine, mundgerechte Kugeln formen. Achten Sie daaruf, dass ihre Hände kalt sind, sodass die Schokolade nicht schmilzt.

After the chocolate-mass is hardened, form small balls out of it. Watch out, that your hands are always cold enough, so the chocolate doesn't melt.

Die kleinen Kugeln sofort mit dunkler Schokolade überziehen und auf ein feines Gitter legen. Anschließend mit weisser Schokolade verzieren.

Guten Appetit!

Immediatley cover the small balls with the dark chocolate and place on a keen grill.

Then decorate with white chocolate.

il gufo spring/summer 2011

Die ersten Bilder aus der Sommer Kollektion 2011 von il gufo sind da. Geteilt ist der Sommer 2011 bei il gufo in zwei verschiedene Themen: Maritim und Romantisch. Im Maritimen Teil der Kollektion findet man weisse Kleider mit dunkel-blauen Streifen, Blusen die mit Jeans, Weste und Römersandalen kombiniert werden und der klassische Trenchcoat, der durch seinen Jeansstoff besonders wird. Hier dominieren die Farben Blau, Weiss und Beige. Wunderbar klassisch, sportlich und elegant. Das Romantische Thema der Kollektion hingegen setzt sich eher aus den Pastellfarben Rosa,Türkis und Blau zusammen. Luftige Plisee´Kleider, Puffärmel, und Stoffrosen als Verzierungen sind hier bezeichnend. Leichte und zarte Stoffe runden den verspielten, mädchenhaften und süßen Teil ab.

Wie gewohnt ist die Kollektion eine süße und klassische, die sehr erwachsen ist, ohne dabei das Kindgerechte zu verlieren.

The first pictures from the il gufo spring/ summer collection 2011 are there. Il gufo's summer 2011 is seperated in two themes: maritime and romantic. In the maritime part of the collection one finds white dresses, blue stripes, blouses combined with jeans, vests and sandals and the classic trenchcoat made of jeans-fabric. The colors blue, white and beige are dominating. The romantic theme of the collection on the other hand is made up of pastell-colors, such as rose, turquoise and blue. Plisee´dresses, puff sleeves and fabric roses as adornment are characteristic. Light and delicate fabrics add perfection to the playful, girly and sweet part of the collection.

As always, il gufo's collecion is sweet, classic and sophisticated.

Frohes Neues Jahr

Allen Lesern ein frohes und erfolgreiches Jahr 2011!! Hoffentlich sind alle gut ins neue Jahr gekommen und haben schön gefeiert. Ab jetzt geht es weiter mit den neuen Sommer Kollektionen!

Black Swan

Ab dem 20.1. läuft in den deutschen Kinos der Film " Black Swan" mit Natalie Portman an. In dem Film geht es um eine Ballett Tänzerin, die die Hauptrolle im Schwanensee tanzen soll und dabei nach und nach ihren Verstand verliert. Der Trailer ist also eher ungeeignet um ihn hier zu posten, trotzdem fühlte ich mich vom Ballett inspiriert. Prima-Ballerina...wohl ein grosser Traum vieler Mädchen. Hier ein paar schöne Bilder zu diesem Thema.

On the 20th of January the movie " Black Swan" with Natalie Portman has premiere in the german movie-theatres. The film is about a ballet dancer, who gets to play the white swan in "Swan Lake" and starts losing her mind over it. A little bit to dark to post it on this Blog. Anyway i found myself inspired by the theme ballet. Becoming a Ballerina...probably dream of many girls. Here are some beautiful pictures all around it.

Pitti Bimbo 2011

Erstmal hoffe ich, dass alle Leser ein schönes Weihnachten und ein paar besinnliche Feiertage hatten. Nun ist das Jahr auch schon fast rum!! Und somit sind auch die Winterkollektionen fast an ihrem Ende angelangt. Ab Januar heisst es: Frühling/ Sommer 2011 shoppen! Und weil man sich schon auf die wärmeren Tage freut, ist es gerade zu unvorstellbar schon an den nächsten Winter zu denken. Genau darüber müssen aber die Einkäufer und Designer gerade nachdenken. Alles läuft auf Hochtouren für einer der grössten Kindermessen, der Pitti Bimbo in Florenz, die dieses Jahr vom 20.-22. Januar stattfindet. Auch ich werde dieses Jahr wieder auf die Messe fahren und bei Roma e Toska arbeiten. Natürlich werde ich mich aber auch über die neuesten Trends für das kommende Jahr informieren! Ich freue mich schon auf viele neue Inspirationen und Ideen...

First of all i hope that everybody had a great christmas and nice holidays. The year 2010 is almost over!! And with the end of the year comes the end of this years winter collections. Starting in January it's all about spring/summer 2011. And because everybody is waiting for warmer days it's almost impossible to think about the next winter already, but that is exactly what buyers and designers are doing at the moment. They are all preparing for one of the biggest children's fair: the Pitti Bimbo in Florence ( this year from the 20th to 22nd of January). This year I am going to see the fair again. Just like last year i will be working for Roma e Toska, but of course i will also seek the newest trends for next year. I can‘t wait and i am looking forward to new inspirations and ideas...

Vogue Enfants

Weil sich auch immer jüngere Mädchen schon für Mode interessieren, hat die Französische Vogue Enfants die Fotostrecke " Mini Fashionistas" veröffentlicht. Junge Mädchen präsentieren auf eine sehr erwachsene Art die Trends aus der Kindermode. Herausgekommen sind tolle Bilder und eine tolle Präsentation der Kleidung. Alle Looks auch zum nachstylen.

Because more and more young girls are already interested in fashion, the French Vogue Enfants featured a foto stream, starring young girls in the newest trends and in finest fashion.
